In the domain of classical vocal Smt Pragnya Mishra has established herself as one of the most talented vocalist of her generation in Odisha representing the glorious tradition of Gwaliar Gharana. Pragnya Mishra has a great passion for music since her childhood and started her early music career at the age of 7.

At first she started learning the famous Oddishi , classical dance of Odisha and then Odishi vocal and completed “Sangeet Bhaskar(Master Degree)” from the university of Pracheen Kala Kendra , Chandigarh . Pragnya Mishra started learning Hindustani Classical Vocal from Guru Sri Jamini Kanta Mishra, the ablest disciple of Pt. Nilakantha Mishra and Pt.J.V.S.Rao and completed her “Sangeet Visharad” from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal,Mumbai.

Being a Graduate in the subject of Psychology, Smt. Pragnya Mishra chooses Hindustani Classical Music as her career. After completion of her Sangeet Visharad she didn’t look back. She prepared herself for stage performances. Smt. Mishra drew the attention of the audience in different states as the only female classical vocal performer of her generation from the state Odisha.

She started her music concert through Gandharva Sangeet Utsav in 2008. Then she performed at the music teachers conference in Korba Chhatisgarh. Her next performances were at the silver jubilee celebration of Geetam in Berhumpur ,International Music & Dance Festival at Cuttack , Gandharv Sangeet Utsav in Puri , Naad- Sangam Utsav in Chhatisgarh , Music Teachers Conference organised by Akhil Bharatiya Gandharv Mahavidyalay Mandal Mumbai , Ekamra Nrutya Mahotsav in Bhubaneswar, concert in Maharashtra Mandal, Silver Jubilee Celebration programme of Gandharva Sangeet Kalapith(Puri), Centenary Celebrations of Shirdi Saibaba Samadhi in Trivendrum ,Nadabramha classical concert in Titlagarh, classical concert by Sri Satya Sai organisation (Chandanpur),  classical concert by Nrutya Sangeet Kala Mandir (Baleswar) , Vikom Temple Festival (Kerala in 2019) ,Akhanda Sangeet Utsav (organised by Bharatiya Sangeet Manch  in Dhenkanal 2019) Classical concert in Bilaspur  (Chhatisgarh) ,concert in   AlI india Music Teachers Conference (organised by A V G M V Mandal Mumbai).

Mrs.Pragnya Mishra is working as an Announcer in All India Radio Puri. She is the principal of “ Nadopasna Kala Accademy ” at Bhubaneswar. She is a regular artist in All India Radio, Cuttack and gives her voice in different programmes on TV channels. She has received the prestigious awared “SANGEET MANI” from International Dance & Music Festival, Cuttack, Sangeet Sadhna Sidhhi Samman 2019 . She is a regular performer in numerous conferences round the year. Now Smt. Pragnya Mishra is continuing her work as a Registered teacher & as an Examiner in Akhila Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai University. As a teacher of Classical Vocal she is now taking music classes in Puri , Bhubaneswar & Online classes also.

No doubt this young and talented Hindustani Classical Vocalist has been rightly hailed as the touch bearer of this rich cultural heritage of India.
